Questions Parents Ask
Questions Parents Ask
What are Stepping Stones?
Wooden balance discs that invite movement, coordination, and imaginative play. Children can step, hop, balance, sequence, and build obstacle courses—turning simple play into rich physical learning.
What ages are they best for?
Recommended for 18 months to 6+ years. Early walkers develop balance and confidence; older kids create more dynamic movement patterns and games.
What developmental benefits do they offer?
Stepping Stones help build balance, coordination, spatial awareness, core strength, rhythm, and motor planning. Because play is open-ended, children challenge themselves at their own pace.
How much weight do they support?
Each stone is sturdy and built for everyday family use. Rated to support up to 350 lbs, so both kids and adults can safely engage in play.
Can multiple kids play together?
Yes. Arrange stones in paths or courses to encourage cooperative play, shared challenges, and group movement games.
What surfaces should I use them on?
Use on rug, carpet, or play mat for best traction and floor protection. Suitable for indoor play; outdoor use on smooth, flat surfaces is fine too.
Are they safe for toddlers?
Yes, when used with adult supervision. The stones are low to the ground, stable, and designed for confident first steps and gross motor exploration.
How do kids play with them?
There’s no single way—kids step, hop, jump, sequence them into obstacle courses, stack them, or use them as imaginative props in play scenes.
Why does each set look slightly different?
Handcrafted in our Georgia workshop from real wood with water-based, child-safe finishes. Natural grain and color variation are expected and part of the unique character.
How do I clean and care for them?
Wipe with a soft, damp cloth as needed. Avoid harsh cleaners, excess water, and prolonged direct sun or heat to preserve the wood.
Are Stepping Stones good gifts?
Yes—parents and caregivers love them for active, screen-free play. They make thoughtful gifts for birthdays and holidays and grow with the child over years of use.
