FAQs
So, what's your story?
Glad you asked. You can read it here.
What is your company's goal?
Our goal is to develop curiosity, creativity and resilience in kids.
Can you tell us about your company briefly?
At Bunny Hopkins, we craft heirloom-quality playsets that promote creativity and resilient child development through active, imaginative play. We're a family-owned and operated company based in Georgia, USA - rooted in community, guided by purpose, and passionate about play. Every product is proudly made in the USA, thoughtfully designed, and consistently loved by families across the country.
What does Made in USA mean?
Bunny Hopkins toys are handmade in the USA. We do not use any non-USA materials or labor.
The wood, the finishing, the packaging? It is all Made in the USA. We support USA businesses and employees.
This means Bunny Hopkins pays a living wage, right here in the US. The people who work here are highly skilled and you would see that reflected in each product made by us. Some have artisan families here who have been in woodworking for generations. Every product is a piece of art and hand made with love and care.
When we say Made in the USA - we mean it in a hand-crafted and artisan kind of way.

Are you eco-friendly?
This earth is our home, and it is our collective responsibility to take care of our home.
Renewable resources. Eco-friendly. All natural. For us, these are not buzzwords. It is who we are and how we do what we do. We are a green company and look for everyday opportunities in our manufacturing and operations to be greener.
At Bunny Hopkins, all our products are natural. So, we do not have any plastic footprint. We make our toys out of fast-growing American trees that grow in the Appalachian Mountains. These trees are a renewable resource.
Our packaging? We use recycled paper for most of it. Our brochures, presentations, business cards and letterhead are mostly all online with a no-paper footprint.
Doing right by the environment is embedded in our processes and products.
Where are you based?
Our current Business HQ, Product Development, Manufacturing, Operations & Fulfillment, is based in Atlanta, Georgia, USA.
How can I contact you?
Please contact us here.
How do we care for these wooden playsets?
Our toys do not need any special maintenance. If necessary, they can be cleaned with a damp cloth. To make them look good as new, just apply some natural beeswax every couple of years!
What is - and isn’t - a defect?
If you look closely at our toys, you will see wood grain which shows the unique nature of wood. These products provide you with a wonderful way to talk with children about nature and the beauty of individual differences.
Grain and streaks make your wobble board truly one-of-a-kind. Unlike plastic toys, no two of the same product will ever be identical.
Also, since the staining and finishing process is done by a human and not a machine, you would see personal touches and minor bleeding in the Rainbow/Ocean/Sunset/Earth Tones color variations, which is normal and not a defect.
However, if your product is cracked or damaged, please let us know. We will assess and replace it.
Can we use your products on the floor?
We do not recommend using our products directly on hardwood floor and tile floor to avoid the risk of slipping. Using hardwood may cause scratches on the hand-made finish. Our product is intended to be used on carpet or rug to enable the friction between the playset and the ground.
What is the current turnaround time for orders?
3 - 5 business days.
What about the safety of your products?
The wood we use is natural. All wood stains and coatings have been tested and are non-toxic, water based and do not contain heavy metals. Our products meet or exceed the CPSIA (Consumer Protection Safety Improvement Act), standards set by the CPSC (Consumer Product Safety Commission and ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials) and EN71/3 safety requirements. To keep everyone honest, we third-party test all our products. You would have the peace of mind of buying a product which is certified to be non-toxic and made with sustainably sourced raw materials with highest quality parameters.
What's the importance of open ended play?
Children usually prefer play that stimulates their curiosity and allows them to become engrossed in their own imagination and creativity. Open-ended play begins in very early childhood when children use objects to learn about the world around them with no guidance or prescription by adults. It offers children the freedom to discover and create and gives the adult insight into children's thinking. Open ended means not having a fixed answer, unrestricted, and allowing for future adaptations. This type of play allows children to have no fear of doing it wrong, since there is no correct method or outcome. It's all about free play – the freedom to invent and discover, fostering talent in a relaxed way.
Open-ended play is becoming more popular in all child development settings because of the open-ended possibilities attached to it. Many education approaches such as the Steiner Waldorf system or Montessori advocates the need for real experiences in order to acquire life skills. Open-ended toys are the opposite of the battery-operated toys that require only that children push a button. Such toys do the playing while the child is reduced to the passive role of an audience.
The Association for Childhood Education International includes in its 2003 position statement on creative thought that “we need to do more than prepare children to become cogs in the machinery of commerce.” As parents and educators, there is a frequent desire to have children simply do as their told, without questioning commands. However, as adults, we value different skills in our colleagues. We want co-workers who are able to think on their feet, make complex decisions taking into account differing perspectives, and to be able to think and act on their own.
It is through children’s early childhood experiences, when the brain is rapidly developing, that we have the best opportunity to support the development of these critical life skills. From birth through age 5, children’s brains are literally forming the complex web of synapses that last throughout their lives, and greatly impact their social, emotional, physical and cognitive performance as adults. Open-ended play allows children to make choices, express their creativity and support their independence. Informed and aware parents are now increasingly intentional about providing children with toys that let them make choices about play, and support them in strengthening their cognitive, language and social skills in the process.
